The Marengo Society for Historic Preservation Wins "Excellent" Award

for their 2011 Historic Calendar series. The Society recently received notice from the Illinois Association of Museums that they are the recipient of two awards, an Excellent Award for their 2011 calendar, Number 8 in their Historic Calendar series, Classic American Architecture in Marengo, and an Award of Merit for their 2011 publication, Marengo 100 Years, 1835-2011. Only two nominations can be entered by any one organization and to have both entries awarded is considered quite an honor by the MSHP! The committees for both publications did a great job! The calendar committee consisted of Karen Lee, Pam Gitta, and Cindy Miller with Dorothy Otis, Shirley Kitchen, June Meyer, Jaunita Kirkman and Bill Eschbach serving on the book committee. Cindy Miller also was the Graphic Artist for Marengo 100 Years, 1835-2011.

Several of these members will be traveling to Bloomington on October 21 to attend the Association's Awards Banquet.
